A Clinton man has received a felony charge of being in possession of the key ingredient to methamphetamine.
Miles Andrew Pope, 28, of 414 Wrye Branch Road, Clinton, has been charged with possession of pseudoephedrine with a prior meth conviction.
The outstanding warrant, issued out of Harnett County, was served at the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said.
Pope was placed under $5,000 secured bond for the charge.
According to the N.C. Department of Public Safety, Pope has multiple convictions out of Sampson dating back to 2009, including those on misdemeanor offenses of driving while impaired, common law uttering and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His most recent conviction was a felony one, specifically possession of a Schedule II controlled substance conviction in November 2011, nearly four years ago, court records show.
Pope has a court date of Sept. 22.
