A northern Sampson man was robbed at gunpoint inside his home in the early-morning hours Sunday, with armed suspects reportedly getting away with thousands of dollars in electronics, jewelry, cash and firearms.
The robbery occurred at a residence on the 1600 block of Ira B. Tart Road, Dunn, with a 39-year-old male victim of the residence telling authorities that unknown individuals forced their way into the residence, assaulting and robbing him of various items.
The incident was reported just after 2 a.m. Sunday.
“The victim did receive minor non-life threatening injuries as a result of the incident,” Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith stated.
According to reports, stolen items were valued at roughly $12,500. Those items included a Samsung Galaxy phone valued at $500, assorted jewelry valued at $10,000, $500 in cash and and three semi-automatic handguns valued at a total of $1,485.
“The investigation is ongoing and anyone having information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office,” Smith said.
