On Saturday, May 2, Sampson County 4-H held the Cape Fear Farm Credit Heifer Showdown. There were over 30 participants. Local winners were: Shane Kendall – Reserve Champion Heifer, Wyatt Kendall – Grand Champion Cow/Calf Pair (pictured), Colbey Matthis – Champion Junior Showman (pictured), Shane Kendall – Reserve Champion Junior Showman, and Wyatt Kendall – Reserve Champion Intermediate Showman. Local 4-H officials offered their thanks to the volunteers that helped with the event and to Cape Fear Farm Credit, Register Farms, and Big Blue for sponsoring the show.
