L.C. Kerr School recently held its Truck Day, which allowed students to see large vehicles upclose.

The activity included a unique opportunity for students to explore the different types of vehicles, bringing smiles of delight from the youngsters as they meandered around the school grounds. Some of the trucks they got to take a look at included public service, emergency, utility, delivery, construction and farming. The presenters included State Pest Control; Parker Gas; Murphy Brown; Clinton’s Police Department, Public Works, Fire and Rescue; and Clinton Truck and Tractor.

“We appreciate all the community support,” Kerr Principal Jan Smith said. “This is just an hands-on experience for our kids.”

Smith said it also supported and tied in with the school’s curriculum. The event was organized by Mary Dudley, a teacher at L.C. Kerr School.
