Bessie Locus was named Roseboro Salemburg Middle School’s Support Staff of the Year. She is originally from Greensboro, and graduated from NC A &T State University with a BA in English and MS in Counselor Education. Locus has had the unique pleasure of working in education for 31 years. She loves working with students of all ages. She began her education in the Greensboro Public School system as a Teacher Assistant while she was enrolled in graduate school. Locus worked as a counselor in the community college system for almost 25 years. She has been blessed for the past six years to work at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School. She said she loves working at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School because she’s allowed the opportunity to plan so many wonderful programs and hopes to make a difference in the 420 students that she sees every day. She thinks it is important to get the students ready for life by exposing them to many opportunities, so they can be ready for high school, college, and the world of work. Mrs. Locus says, ‘What makes my stay at Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School enjoyable, in addition to the students, is the amazing staff and faculty.’
