On the morning of April 3, 2015 the North Carolina Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy (TCA) held a Walk-a-thon involving all of the cadets in the Academy. Each TCA class gives a percent of the money they collect to the American Red Cross. On the afternoon of May 8, 2015, Class 44 presented a $500.00 check to Mr. Phil Harris, Executive Director, for the Highlands Chapter of the American Red Cross. Cadet Alexander Shipley, the Cadet Advisory Board (CAB) Chairman presented the check on behalf of the Class. Mr. Harris told the cadets how much it was appreciated and how the Red Cross helps in the aftermath of disasters such as home fires and storms, as well as helping soldiers and their families.
