What a wonderful two weeks it has been! All of the encouragement that I have been receiving has certainly reminded me of how lucky I am to call Sampson County home. I am looking forward to growing our business community and taking our key values and opening up new doors and opportunities for Chamber members.
Tuesday I attended my very first Board of Directors meeting at the Ashford Inn and I can honestly say that I am very excited for the year ahead! Congratulations to the new Board of Director members and thank you to all for making me feel so welcomed. My main goal for this year is to get the business community more involved with not only the Chamber but with all of the Chamber members. Anthony Sessoms, the new Board President, brought to my attention this week that the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce covers the largest geographical area than any other Chamber in the state of North Carolina. We represent Clinton, Newton Grove, Autryville, Turkey, Salemburg, Roseboro, Harrells, and Garland. This is something that makes us unique and to puts you at an advantage to have your business in Sampson County and to be a part of the Chamber of Commerce.
Congratulations to our Member of the Week, CommWell Health, located in Dunn. They are a great group of businessmen and women, and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and their business. Thank you to everyone who came out to support them! For more information on CommWell Health please call them at 910-567-7177 or check them out at www.commwellhealth.org.
Next Monday, Jan. 18, is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Please come out and support our 16th annual banquet honoring Dr. King. It will be held at the Sampson County Exposition Center starting at noon. Burney’s Sweets and More will be serving lunch and we are expected to have around 400 participants.
We would also love to see everyone at our January Business After hours hosted by the Sampson County Exposition Center, Party Perfect Rentals, Evans Catering, and the Sampson County Convention and Visitors Bureau. It is the perfect opportunity to come out to eat, drink, and meet the new CVB Director, Sheila Barefoot, and myself.
If you have any questions regarding the Chamber of Commerce or the events listed above please do not hesitate to contact me at 910-592-6177, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit us at www.clintonsampsonchamber.org. I would love to sit down and talk to you about the benefits of the Chamber and how we can work for you.
Kaitlin Norris is executive director of the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce.
