A Plain View man is facing a felony charge for alleged improper involvement with a 14-year-old girl, according to Sampson County Sheriff’s officials.

Bobby McCall Dial, 33, of 3350 Easy St., Dunn, has been charged with one felony count of indecent liberties with a minor. Dial was arrested on Jan. 20 and served the charge at the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, as well as out-of-county warrants for his arrest on three misdemeanor counts of simple physical assault.

Those warrants reportedly stem from an incident in Wayne County. His arrest report indicates that the alleged assault occurred well over a decade ago, as warrants were issued in that incident in May 2004.

Sampson Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said the felony charge in Sampson was the result of an investigation into information received from the Department of Social Services.

“Information was received from DSS about the possibility of sexual misconduct As a result an investigation was launched into the incident and enough probable cause was established to charge the suspect,” Smith noted. “The victim was a 14-year-old female.”

He said no further information could be provided.

Dial was given $26,000 unsecured bond and a court date of Jan. 29.
