The cast of “Little Women” were able to make it to the Sampson Community Theater for four performances this past weekend while having to endure low temperatures and scattered icy roads.

But show up they did and showed us the result of their many rehearsals during January as they sang and danced to perfection making our audiences forget the bad weather outside. The songs were many and beautifully sung by all, highlighted by Emily Tucker hitting high notes that caused shivers of delight to all who were listening.

We are ordering no snow or ice this weekend as another cast will perform shows at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The cast this weekend will feature Angela Martin as Jo March, Emma Moore as Meg March, Taylor Blanchard as Beth March, Isabelle Moore as Amy March, Yvonne Cano as Marmee, Jerred Yaw as Laurie, Bruce Creech as Mr. Laurence, Geoffrey Tart as Professor, Karen Moore as Aunt March, and Lila Maxwell as Mrs. Kirk.

The vehicle parked near the box office is an example of the cars being offered by Performance Chrysler Dodge, one of the sponsors of “Little Women”, the other being the Sampson Arts Council which provided a Grassroots grant thanks to the efforts of Kara Donatelli. Advance tickets may be purchased at Inkspot or Matthews Gifts.

This weekend is your last chance to either renew your Patron Sponsor ticket or to become a new Patron Sponsor for our 2016 season. A Patron Sponsor ticket allows two people to attend all of our shows at a reduced rate and also get the name of the patrons or business in all our programs.

You may purchase your 2016 Patron Sponsor tickets by contacting any Board member or at the box office this weekend. Our proposed 2016 shows are listed below. Additionally there is planned a special program for patrons only this summer where all valid patrons may see a Las Vegas style show on our stage free of charge as a thank you for supporting the Sampson Community Theater.
