Andrew Lloyd Webber is an Englishman who is arguably the most famous composer of musicals in history. One of his most famous compositions is “Cats” which is our next production at the Sampson Community Theater and which had auditions this past Sunday and Tuesday.
The director, L.J. Carr, says that there are a number of newcomers to our stage for this musical. “Cats” will have rehearsals beginning this Saturday. A sponsor is still needed and we would hope that one will come forward because we expect this show to be a blockbuster to kick off our summer as the stage will be filled with singing and dancing cats. Kittens will take up any empty spaces on stage and if you listen closely you will be able to hear them purring. “Cats” promises to be a crowd pleaser and eight shows are planned for late June.
Many thanks to Taylor Michaels who used his musical comedy and magic gifts to entertain this past Saturday our Patron sponsors. This event was enjoyed by all and the audience left the theater with smiles on their faces. If you didn’t get to see it, it is your loss because it was free to all.
The theater is very proud to announce that two of the young ladies that have graced our big stage frequently have been further honored. Isabelle Moore has been selected to attend the Jofferey School of Musical Theater Program in New York City this summer and Sarah Day was selected to attend the Governors School as a student in Theater for this summer. Both of these ladies are members of Angela’s Musical Troupe, are great students and are very deserving of these honors. We hope to see them on our stage again after they learn a lot this summer.
Patron Sponsor tickets are available by calling Brenda Martin at 990-4510. These tickets allow two people to attend every show we produce and get their name or the name of their business included in every program at a reduced rate .

Thought until next week:
The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.
Remember we all stumble, every one of us. That’s why it’s a comfort to go hand in hand.
There is not a particle of life which does not bear poetry within it.
