P.R.O.M.I.S.E. is a unique transition program that the eighth graders at Mintz Christian Academy go through to help spiritually prepare them for high school. Each month, this group focuses on a spiritual attribute that would help them along their spiritual journey. Every letter in the acronym stands for a spiritual attribute: purity, responsibility, obedience, maturity, integrity, stewardship, and establishment. They journal, participate in classes, and enjoy each other’s friendship. At the end of this program, they have a ceremony where each student gives a speech about what was learned and how it affected his or her life. After the student speeches, the parents get the opportunity to speak a blessing over their child’s lives. It is a sacred ceremony where both the students and the parents receive a blessing. After each student blessing is given, the parents then give a purity ring to their children.
