It has been rumored that all the mice in Clinton are packing their bags and planning to leave town for a few weeks until the crowd of felines have left the Sampson Community Theater, where they are currently rehearsing for the Tony Award winning musical that opens on the big stage June 16 at 8 p.m.
After 18 straight years on Broadway, “Cats” has been playing all over the world and will have a Broadway revival on July 14, only three weeks after our production ends. Will it run longer than 18 years again? It’s certainly possible with songs like “Memory” stirring up thoughts and ideas from past years. The biggest job is the costumers and make-up artists who fill the stage with color and intrigue. Our heartfelt thanks to Sampson Salvage and Star Communications for their sponsorship of this summer blockbuster. You don’t want to miss this one.
Blake Bellinger, a “Cats” cast member playing the part of Rum Tug Tugger, will be attending the Jofferey school. He is the young man whose Eagle Scout project was a revamping of our green room and he put on a talent show in January to raise funds to accomplish that end,
Angela Martin is directing “The Addams Family” at the Harnett Regional Theater in Dunn this Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Chuck Moore in the same role he played at SCT last year. Several other SCT regulars are also cast in the play. All shows are at 7:30 p.m., except for the 3 p.m. Sunday show
Patron sponsor tickets are available by calling Brenda Martin at 990-4510. These tickets allow two people to attend every show we produce and get their name or the name of their business included in every program at a reduced rate.

Thoughts until next week:
The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid.
In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. Find the fun and the job’s a game.
Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.
