Sampson Community College students enrolled in the Equine Industry class had the opportunity to visit the Carroll’s Cutting Horses Ranch in Turkey recently. Students were able to see advanced indoor and outdoor equestrian training and housing facilities and learn about the cutting horse industry while on the tour.

Cutting is a western-style equestrian competition in which a horse and rider work as a team before a judge or panel of judges to demonstrate the horse’s athleticism and ability to handle cattle during a 2 1⁄2 minute performance.
