An armed robber made off with a little more than pizza Wednesday afternoon after brandishing a weapon at a Papa John’s Pizza worker housed in a trailer parked in the Coharie Plaza lot.

Clinton Police are continuing a search for the suspect, and officers are seeking the public’s help.

According to Sgt. Robbie King, officers have very little to go on in the robbery, which took place just after 2:30 Wednesday.

“We don’t have a description,” King noted, saying that a hoodie the suspect was wearing prevented the pizza worker from getting a good look at the individual’s face.

Officers do know that a silver SUV pulled up to the pizza trailer and a back seat passenger rolled down the window and asked first for two pizzas, and then displayed a weapon and told the worker to hand over all the money to avoid being hurt.

The worker, King said, handed over the money and those in the SUV fled the scene.

“We don’t really no which direction the SUV headed,” King said.

Anyone who might have information about the incident is asked to call the Police Department at 910-592-3105.
