Two Sampson County men were taken this week — one on Wednesday, the other Tuesday — and charged with multiple felonies related to a breaking and entering on Mary Rose Lane near Clinton that occurred on May 10.


Ernest Terrell McKoy, 26, 115 Day Break Lane, Newton Grove and Jonas Crumpler, 30, of 1160 Rosin Hill Road, Newton Grove, are now facing charges of breaking entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession/concealing stolen property and conspire to break and enter, all felonies.


According to Sheriff’s Sgt. Marcus Smith, the break-in occurred on May 10 when someone entered the residence and removed a TV valued at $700.


“Through the investigation,probable cause was established and warrants were obtained,” Smith said, noting that the pair were taken into custody as a result.


McKoy was placed under a $25,000 unsecured bond; Crumpler was placed under a $10,000 bond. Both are expected to make first appearances in Sampson County District Court on May 30.

5/21 - Four flat screen TVs valued at $1,350, a jewelry box valued at $50 and two Clement High School class rings valued at $200 each, assorted Wii games valued at $5,000, a laptop valued at $1,200, an air compressor valued at $200, headphones valued at $200, a Wii gaming system valued at $200, a Nintendo gaming system valued at $200, three tote bags valued at $90, a PlayStation 2 gaming system valued at $300, along with assorted other jewelry was stolen from an Old Wrench School Road residence near Godwin. Entry was gained through a rear door. Damage to the rear door and a door to a storage building was estimated at $800.
