The names of five people killed this morning in a tragic house fire on Gibbs Road are still being withheld as investigators probe the cause of the fire and the county's medical examiner works to positively identify them.

Few details are available yet on what caused the fire at 552 Gibbs Road, which reportedly began just after 1 a.m. this morning. Garland firefighters, along with crews from multiple other emergency agencies responded to the scene and worked to put out the blaze through the early morning hours.

According to a release issued this morning by the Sampson County Sheriff's Office, at least five people have been confirmed dead, however the scene is still being processed.
