A sixth body has just been discovered in the charred remains of a house at 552 Gibbs Road, the scene of a tragic early morning fire that has claimed at least six people.
Investigators remain on scene combing through what is left of the structure.
The names of those killed this morning are still being withheld as investigators probe the cause of the fire and the county’s medical examiner works to positively identify them. Identification, authorities said, could take quite some time.
Few details are available yet on what caused the fire which reportedly began just after 1 a.m. this morning. Garland firefighters, along with crews from multiple other emergency agencies responded to the scene and worked to put out the blaze through the early morning hours.
