When families and friends of Sampson Community College graduates travel to the Sampson AG EXPO to see their loved ones receive recognition, they may want to stop for a bite to eat at the local McDonalds on the way in. This will not only keep hunger at bay but will also help future SCC students achieve the same dream.
Once again this year, both McDonalds locations in Clinton will be donating a portion of sales made on May 16th (graduation day) to the Sampson Community College Foundation. Hugh Caison, owner of the local McDonalds franchises as well as the SCC Foundation Director, has agreed to celebrate SCC graduates by making a considerable donation to the foundation through this daylong event. This is the second year in a row Caison has made such a commitment to the college.
Caison, a former SCC student in the college transfer program who went on to graduate from UNC-Wilmington with a business degree says he is glad to give back to the college. “I feel strongly about giving back to a community that was so giving to me. I would not be where I am today without caring and giving faculty at Sampson Community College. I am proud to support our future leaders from this area.”
Lisa Turlington, SCC Foundation Director, encourages the local community to participate in the event “We appreciate all that Hugh does for the Community College and for Sampson County”, said Turlington. “I encourage everyone to enjoy at least one McDonalds meal on May 16!”
“Hugh Caison’s Sampson Community College Day at his Clinton McDonalds locations demonstrates not only his support for Sampson Community College but also his commitment to help students achieve their educational goals”, said SCC President Paul Hutchins. “Please support Sampson Community College students by visiting a Clinton McDonald’s location on Friday May 16th.”
So for a quick meal on the way to graduation or a quick dessert on the way home, stop in at either McDonalds locations in Clinton to help support the future students of Sampson County.
