With September just around the corner, we have many exciting opportunities quickly approaching. From next week’s Sampson Perspective to the following week’s Washington Perspective and Business Showcase to a seminar focusing on Building Reuse and Business Startup at the end of September, there is something for everyone!

As the vehicle to reach our local, state, and national representation, last August the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce hosted the first “Sampson Perspective.” With standing room only, last year’s event received rave reviews. On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the 2nd Sampson Perspective will take place at 5:30 p.m. at Sampson Community College in room O-140. Through this event, the mission is to provide an avenue for the community to ask the most pressing questions to our leaders.

Sitting on the 2014 Sampson County Executive Leadership Panel will be: Congressman Mike McIntyre, a representative for Sen. Richard Burr, Janet Bradbury, N.C. Sen. Brent Jackson, Rep. Larry Bell, Rep. William Brisson, County Manager Ed Causey, and Clinton City Manager Shawn Purvis.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to meet key leaders and discuss a variety of topics in order to promote economic growth and a higher quality of life within Sampson County. Again, we hope to see you for this free event opportunity on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 5:30 p.m.

The following week, from Sunday, Sept. 7th through Tuesday, Sept. 9, a group of Chamber representatives will pay their own way to Washington D.C. as we take this opportunity to meet with our elected officials about challenges and needs specific for Sampson County. We will take this opportunity to follow up on questions and concerns noted in the Sampson Perspective held the week before as we serve as a voice for the Chamber membership and community.

That same week, we are excited about the 2014 Business Showcase hosted by CenturyLink located in Downtown Clinton. On Thursday, Sept. 11, from 5 until 7 p.m., over 30 businesses and organizations will display their products and services to the community. Stop by and enjoy live music, door prizes, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and exploring local business as we support local and buy local.

Lastly, we close September with a seminar panel event focusing on “Building Reuse and Building Startup.” With many existing structures located within Sampson County where each are filled with opportunities, we strive to equip current and potential business owners the tools and resources needed to use an existing structure to meet code and their needs. Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 30, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Sampson Community College for this moderated panel event.

With a lot taking place in September, we look forward to offering many upcoming opportunities to Chamber Members and the local community. For more information about the 2014 “Sampson Perspective”, “Washington Perspective” or the 2014 Business Showcase, give us a call at 910-592-6177 or visit www.clintonsampsonchamber.org. Let the Chamber work for you!
