I am excited to announce that another Chamber grant has been awarded, this time to James Trading Company in Roseboro.
James Trading Company has recently opened a retail gift and garden center located beside the current business. With the assistance of the Chamber grant, James Trading is now able to purchase a Point of Sale System for the new retail gift and garden center. This system is allowing updated functionality in the operation of the new expansion to their business. This new expansion attracts a new customer mix as well as creates an immediate need for two new employees to be added to their workforce, creating jobs.
The Chamber is excited to be a part of economic development within Sampson County!
The Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce is excited about this new grant program, offering two grants to our members. One is a matching grant for outside improvements and the other is a capital equipment matching grant.
The matching grant for outside improvements is a program designed to assist Chamber members with financial support in regards to the outside of their business. In an effort to help beautify our county and give back to the community, we are introducing this incentive to all Chamber businesses. The goal of the Matching Grant for Outside Improvements is to provide an economic incentive to renovate storefronts for Chamber members and/or to assist in the upkeep and appearance of their business to continue economic growth. Examples of qualifying for Outside Grants include: signage, paint, siding, roofing, awnings, hand rails, windows, gecoming handicapped accessible, etc.
The matching grant for capital equipment is a program designed to assist Chamber members in the purchase of equipment that will increase their customer base and target markets. The goal of the Capital Equipment Incentive is that the addition of the equipment will expand their business, in turn, creating jobs.
To be eligible for this program, the business must be a current Chamber member for at least two years. The owners and/or tenants may request incentive grants; however, any tenant must have the owner’s written permission included in the application. All Chamber grants are given on a 50/50-matching reimbursement basis.
The next application review is Nov. 30, 2014. Again, congratulations to James Trading Company in Roseboro on receiving the Chamber Grant for Capital Equipment.
