Happy Thursday! My name is Anna Herring. At the beginning of my second and final semester of high school, I was given the opportunity to intern at the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce. Words do not begin to describe how excited I am. Growing up in Sampson County, I have developed a true appreciation for our local businesses and close-knit community. It is hard to believe how fast time is flying by. As of now, I have been an intern for a month and have already learned a great deal. I find it absolutely amazing to have such a great organization in our community promoting local business and community involvement.

In four short months, I will be graduating from Clinton High School. Post graduation, I plan to attend either Hollins University or UNC Wilmington to pursue a degree in communication studies with a minor in business administration. Career-wise, I hope to work in public relations or something relative to it. In addition to this internship, I work part-time for the law offices of Warrick, Bradshaw & Lockamy. I am a strong believer in learning through experience and working in both of these settings has taught me more than I could imagine. I have made connections with a great number of phenomenal individuals. Beyond school and work, I love being outside or on the road with my family and friends. I keep a very busy schedule, but I would not have it any other way.

I am beyond thankful for this experience. I believe that this internship will benefit me greatly in my future studies. I am extremely eager to learn more about our wonderful community. I would like to give a special thanks to Kaitlin Adkins and Clinton High School for making this possible. I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
