This past Tuesday night was the Chamber’s 47th Annual Celebration. On this night we take the time to really honor our members and make it a night about them. With over 300 in attendance, we celebrated with a delightful band, appetizers, masks and crowns, and a wonderful dinner by South Catering. We would like to congratulate all of our nominees and award winners for our Small Business Awards. We hope everyone enjoyed their evening.

Continue the celebration with us next week with a ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony for The Sampson Independent on Thursday, March 2. With a well-deserved change of location, The Sampson Independent is excited to show off their new look and location at 109 West Main Street in downtown Clinton. Come out to celebrate them with appetizers and beverages at 5:30 p.m.

While the celebration is ceremonial in the excitement of people gathering to celebrate, I encourage you to stop and think for a moment of what a ribbon cutting truly means to each of us as residents of Sampson County. As a business is established or grows, it typically means: new jobs, contributions to our tax base, investing in the community, giving back to support a variety of civic groups, fundraisers, and increasing our overall quality of life. Overall, a ribbon cutting symbolizes economic growth, something that impacts us all.

I encourage you to join in on the celebration with new or expanding businesses. Check your e-mails for the latest happenings in Sampson County and save the date for the many upcoming economic growth celebrations. If you would like to be a part of the Chamber’s e-blasts, please e-mail [email protected] or call 592-6177.
