Chamber works to help grow local businesses

By Kaitlin Adkins - Contributing columnist

While writing this, I am packing for an exciting Chamber adventure that I think will help expand and improve the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce. I have the pleasure of attending the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives 2017 Staff Leadership Development Conference in Salisbury. I will have the opportunity to network and meet Chamber Executives from North and South Carolina and brainstorm ideas with them.

While attending the conference I will be learning how to use our media and emails to truly reach our members. I will also be learning new innovative ways to host networking events for our members, and opportunities for them to grow appearances in our community. I am excited to learn new ways that the Chamber can play a role in defining the brand of our wonderful small town community!

If you’re a member of the Chamber, don’t forget to display your new Green 2017 membership decal. Studies shows that when a consumer knows a small business is a member of the chamber, they are 63 percent more likely to purchase goods or services from that company in the future and it increases your local reputation by 57 percent in the consumer’s eyes. Be sure to display your membership proudly and shoppers, please check out the Chamber Membership Decals located throughout Sampson County and support them as we buy local first.

I encourage you to get involved with the Chamber of Commerce. As an individual or business member, take advantage of the opportunities to network, advertise, attend educational seminars, and more. We are over 400 members strong and continuing to grow. Give us a call at 910-592-6177 and let us be a part of your business or organization today.
