The South River EMC Annual Meeting of Members is coming up Thursday, April 17 at the Crown Theatre and Arena in Fayetteville.
Attending the meeting will be the Cooperative’s incoming CEO and Executive Vice President, Chris Spears. Spears will be introduced to all members at the business meeting, which begins in the theatre at 7:30 p.m. He will officially take the helm May 1.
South River staff encourage members to come ready for a good time, and if you’re one of the first 1,000 members registered, you’ll receive a bag with two LED bulbs, a pill cutter and pen. You’ll also receive a credit for $10 off your May electric bill.
This year, doors will open at 6 p.m. and members can enjoy entertainment from the Blake Kearney Band, as well as snacks and the Cooperative’s annual vendor bazaar. The bazaar brings some 50 local businesses to share goods and services with members.
There will also be prizes, staff said. All those who register at the annual meeting will be entered to win a door prize at the close of the meeting. The grand prize this year is a retired 2004 Ford F150. Those who stay until the close of the meeting are eligible.
South River EMC is a locally-owned and operated electric cooperative, which provides electric service to 42,000 homes, farms and businesses in parts of Harnett, Cumberland, Sampson, Johnston and Bladen counties.
