The three casts of “Little Mermaid, Jr.” have been chosen and will now embark on weeks of rehearsals. That would be a logistical nightmare for most directors, but with Angela Martin at the helm the waters will remain calm and smooth. To compound the complexity, there are 20 scenes in this show and much singing and dancing which means there will be three different groups having to learn not only the lyrics but also the dance steps. So as you can see, there will be some 100-plus kids that will have a fun-filled summer learning to sing and dance instead of spending all their days watching TV while Angela can only hope to survive the summer with only a few more grey hairs.

The large number of children that auditioned and got a part have been split into three casts. There will now be a total of nine shows presented over three weekends. One cast named “Seashells” will perform on Aug. 8, 9 and 10. Another cast named “Sunshine” will perform on Aug. 15, 16 and 17. The remaining cast named “Salt Water” will perform on Aug. 22, 23 and 24. You may find out the names of the actors in each cast by visiting our website at www.sampsoncommunitytheatre.org

“The Little Mermaid, Jr.” is being proudly sponsored by sweetFrog (the home of premium frozen yogurt).

Thoughts until next week:

• Live your life each day as you would climb a mountain. An occasional glance towards the summit keeps the goal in mind, but many beautiful scenes are to be observed from each vantage point.

• The greatest discovery of life is that a person can alter their life simply by altering his attitude of mind.

• Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.
