Sampson County’s got some of the cutest kids around. Don’t believe it, just glance around any elementary school, daycare or recreation center; there you’ll find the proof smiling back at you.
With all that cuteness in mind, we are encouraging parents and other family members to show them off, and we’re giving you the outlet to do just that.
Once again this year, we, along with our advertising sponsors — Ford of Clinton, White Swan, Ellis Lewis Auto, Sampson County and Clinton City schools, Sampson Regional Medical Center and Perrine, Wiley and Potts — are holding the Cutest Kids Contest, which kicks off today at our website, www.clintonnc.com.
So, if you know some of those cute kids, promote them by encouraging their parents or grandparents to show them off, and if you want to see them win, come june 15, start voting for them.
Children from birth to age 12 are eligible to be The Sampson Independent’s Cutest Kid for 2014 or a winner in any of six other categories: newborn; toddler; ages 2-3; ages 4-6; ages 7-8; and ages 9-12
There are plenty of them in our area, that’s for sure, and no doubt parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, along with just about anyone else who knows a youngster, will want to see the little cuties entered in the newspaper’s online contest.
This is our fifth year offering the Cutest Kids Contest, which has had overwhelming support and seen thousands upon thousands of votes cast since its inception, not to mention dozens upon dozens of young ones getting much deserved recognition just for being themselves.
This is a fun competition that allows us and you, both our print readers and our online visitors, an opportunity to promote children.
All one has to do is visit www.clintonnc.com, click on the Cutest Kids logo and follow the simple directions to first upload photos, and later in the month to cast votes.
And, naturally, watch the paper — and the website — to see who’s entered and, once voting begins, who’s leading the pack. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter (@SampsonInd) to see updates on the latest entries, too. There will be surprises along the way across our various communication mediums, just a little something to pique your interest and, again, to promote all the youngsters we hope will participate in the contest.
Everyone can enter. All you really need is an email address Everything about the contest is free, including the fun you’ll have uploading pictures and watching the progress as the contest grows and all those adorable pictures begin popping up on the website and in the newspaper.
What’s not to love? After all, it’s those smiles, those bright eyes, those adorable grins and those gorgeous faces that make the little cutie’s so irresistible in the first place.
Much thanks again goes to our title sponsor — Ford of Clinton — and category sponsors White Swan, Ellis Lewis Auto, Clinton City and Sampson County schools, Sampson Regional Medical Center and Perrine, Wiley and Potts for helping us to promote your children.
When you see Ford’s Larry McPhail or anyone representing our other advertising sponsors be sure to thank them for helping make this contest possible. And support them whenever and however you can. After all, they are a big part of this contest and an even bigger part of this community.
We, at The Sampson Independent, hope you have fun with the contest, entering as often as the rules will allow, and, when the time comes, voting … and voting often.
Enjoy it and all the children you’ll get to see as you peruse the online site and in our newspaper. They’re sure to make you smile and, in doing so, make your day a whole light brighter.
Who’s got the cutest kids? We don’t know yet, but they just might be yours.
