Medellin

A Godwin-area man has received multiple felony offenses against him related to alleged meth manufacturing and sales, according to reports filed at the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office Friday.

Constantino Medellin Jr., 30, of 549 Page Road, Godwin, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver methamphetamine, selling methamphetamine and delivering methamphetamine. His bond was set at $50,000 secured for the charges.

Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope said only that the charges against Medellin stemmed from a previous undercover operation. Warrants on the charges were served at the Detention Center on Thursday.

According to Medellin’s arrest report, approximately 24 grams of meth was seized as part of the investigation, which brought the subsequent charges.

Medellin was the target of another sheriff’s investigation at the beginning of this year.

He was charged with four counts of statutory rape and two counts of indecent liberties with a child in January, and also received a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor later that same month. He was arrested at Midway High School and booked in the Sampson County Detention Center under $400,000 secured bond in that case.

Sheriff’s authorities said at the time that the offenses stemmed from an investigation launched after a complaint from Sampson County Schools officials. The victim was a female under the age of 16.
