Three separate felony drug arrests involving the alleged manufacture, sale and deliver of marijuana and ecstasy were made by Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities over the weekend, according to reports filed Monday.

The first was made following a traffic stop conducted on a 2003 Nissan Altima. The vehicle was pulled over after 5 p.m. Friday on N.C. 242 in the Roseboro area, with the motorists identified as having an outstanding warrant.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed over 30 grams of marijuana and a concealed handgun.

Terry Wardell Melvin, 48, of 521 Gold St., Roseboro, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for the storage and sale of a controlled substance, carrying a concealed gun, possession of marijuana (drug) paraphernalia, driving while license revoked and a failure to appear charge.

“Agents with Sampson County Special Investigations Division located the suspect operating a motor vehicle in the Roseboro area and knew he had an outstanding warrant on him from Bladen County,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith said. “As a result, the agents stopped the suspect and placed him under arrest.”

Melvin was placed under $25,500 secured bond for the charges.

Later that evening, shortly before midnight, another drug-related arrest followed an alarm call in Autryville.

“Officers responded to an alarm call at the listed residence in Autryville,” said Smith. “Upon arrival, officers discovered a door and window open and made entry to check the residence. While checking the residence for any possible breaking and entering suspects, the officers discovered in plain view several marijuana plants,” Smith said.

According to sheriff’s reports, a significant amount of marijuana was seized during the investigation, including 20 marijuana plants and more than 300 grams of the drug. It was determined that no break-in had occurred

Karen Jean Davis, 53, of 422 E. Williams St., Autryille, was charged with manufacturing marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the storage of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Davis’ bond was set at $10,000 secured.

The next morning, at about 11 a.m. Saturday, yet another resident was charged with multiple felony drug offenses related not to marijuana, but a drug called MDMA, a psychoactive drug more popularly known as ecstasy or, in recent years, Molly.

Shanice Antionette Blue, 21, of 127 Grubbs Dale Lane, Dunn, was arrested at her home after Sampson deputies served Harnett County warrants, issued March 26.

Blue was charged with two counts of conspiring to sell and deliver a Schedule I controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for the storage and sale of a controlled substance, two counts of conspiring to traffic in MDA/MDMA and trafficking in MDA/MDMA.

Bond was set at $75,000 for the charges.
