A 19-year-old Clinton man remained in jail Tuesday afternoon charged in connection with a March 9 break-in of a residence on Phillips Street.
Markel Tai-Chi Craddock, of 818-A Springwood Apartments in Clinton, is charged with breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods, all three felonies.
According to Clinton Police reports, he was taken into custody around 7:30 a.m Sunday, just a few hours after investigators were called to the residence.
Owners of the Phillips Street residence reported to officers that someone had broken into their home Saturday night while they were away, taking an assortment of items. When they returned, they noticed that the back door of the home was left open and a window had broken out on the left side of the home.
Taken during the incident were two TVs valued at $300 each, a DVD player valued at $100, a PlayStation valued at $100, assorted jewelry valued at $250 and some cash.
An investigation led officers to Craddock, who was taken to the Sampson County Detention Center Sunday morning and jailed under a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Sampson District Court Friday, March 14.
