ROSEBORO — A Roseboro woman received felony drug charges after deputies stopped her swerving vehicle and found her in possession of cocaine, according to reports.
Vanessa Star Royal, 30, of 4170 Hayne Stretch Road, Roseboro, was charged with felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance and driving while impaired.
Royal was arrested on West Roseboro Street in Roseboro shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday when the 2004 Lincoln Aviator she was driving was stopped by Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities. According to reports, 1 gram of crack cocaine was seized during the stop.
In addition to the drug and DWI offenses, Royal received additional charges of open container, failing to maintain lane control and careless and reckless, reports state.
She was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $11,500 secured bond for the charges. She has a court date of Aug. 25.
