An undercover probe that culminated Friday afternoon in a local business parking lot has sent one Sampson County man to jail on a meth conspiracy charge.
Ivan Real Vera, 28, 192 Bluegrass Lane, Roseboro was charged with one count conspiracy to traffick methamphetamine, a felony.
Sketchy details were available on the arrest and the incident that led up to the man being taken into custody by law enforcement.
Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope did note that the incident was part of an undercover operation and that the conspiracy charge stemmed from the planning and setting up of a potential drug buy.
“The undercover operation resulted in the arrest of the suspect in the Roses parking lot,” Pope said, declining further comment on the investigation.
“There’s really not much else I can say at this point,” Pope stressed.
Sheriff’s reports show Vera was taken into custody at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the retail business’ parking lot.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Sampson County Detention Center where he was placed under a $25,000 bond.
Vera is scheduled to make his first appearance in Sampson District Court on the charge Feb. 14.
