Luke 8:51,52 says, “And when he (Jesus) came into the house he suffered no man to go in save Peter, and James and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. And all wept, and bewailed her: but he (Jesus) said, ‘Weep not she is not dead, but sleepeth.” This week I would like to encourage you in the Lord, and let you know that the power to change the atmosphere lies within you. Jesus walked into a house where a young girl had been pronounced dead. They had already prepared themselves for the funeral; even the mother and father had lost hope. This father knew of Jesus and had heard about the miracles he had done throughout the country. In fact, he at one point “fell at the feet of Jesus” asking him to come and help his daughter who was severely sick. Jesus, who was passing through, was taken by the crowd of people who just wanted to touch the border of his garment for healing. Have you ever walked into a room or been around people and they gave off a bad vibe? Every word that comes out of their mouth is a complaint about something or somebody. The amotoshpere has been set by these people who are always sad, depressed, bitter, not thankful for life, and always finding fault in other people. Saints of God, hanging around in that atmosphere with people who have those traits can have you acting just like them. In fact, what little bit of joy you have in Jesus and all that he has done for you can be stolen through this atmosphere. Whatever and whoever you hang around, you will take on their habits and language. The power to change the amotoshpere as Jesus did when he showed up lies deep within you. You don’t have settle for these things. Speak life, speak the word of God, speak blessings, speak peace into your house and work place amotoshpere. Every time Jesus showed up somewhere the mood changed because he walked in the power of authority that was given to him by God, and you and I have been given the same power to the do the same if we would begin to proclaim it.
