Prayer meeting and Bible study is held every Wednesday at 11 a.m. and every Friday at 7 a.m. at Point Level Disciples of Christ Church in Clinton.


Prayer and Bible study is held every Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at the House of Prayer in Faison.


Western Union Missionary Baptist Association Ministers and Deacons Union will be held Saturday Aug. 30, at 9 a.m., at Bearskin MBC in Clinton. The Rev. Christopher Highsmith of Robinson Chapel in Roseboro will bring forth the message. Lunch will be served in the fellowship hall. The host pastor is the Rev. Dr. Mark Powell.


The descendants of John and Hessie McPhail will host the 2014 McPhail Family Reunion during Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 30-31. Activities scheduled for the reunion include: Saturday, Aug. 30, McPhail Family dinner and dance at 5 p.m. at the Bellamy Center in Royal Lane Park. Sunday, Aug. 31, McPhail Annual Worship Service at 11 a.m. at Union Grove Disciples of Christ Church. The family will also have a program and dinner at 1 p.m. at Union Grove education building. All family members are asked to complete their registration in advance by contacting Anthony C. McPhail at 410-461-3931.


Sunday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m., The Friendly Trio will host a Gospel Explosion at the Friendly Community Center. The theme is: Through Love Served Another. Sunday Aug.31, at 11 a.m., Fifth Sunday service will be observed at Beaver Dam MBC, Odom Road, Clinton, with the descendants of Polly and Willie Butler family reunion in charge of worship service. Sunday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m., Family and Friends day will be held at First Baptist Church in Deep Bottom, Wallace.The pastor, the Rev. Acie Robinson, will bring forth the message, and the senior choir will render the music.
