Playing Whiteville at home, Clinton JV would end the night with a big score of 43-0, shutting out the Wolfpack in the first half of the ballgame.
Starting on offense, Clinton did not hesitate to reach the end zone. With less than 3 minutes off the clock in the first quarter, Raheem Skinner scored the first touchdown of the night. RayQuan Faison then gained a 2 point conversion, making the score 8-0. Minutes later, Clinton scored another TD with 5:08 left in the first quarter. Raheem Skinner then granted Clinton a 2 point conversion. The score was now 16-0.
With Whiteville testing new plays in hope of scoring a touchdown, Clinton’s defense stayed strong. Jaquan McClean then scored a third touchdown for the Dark Horses, moving the score to 22-0. RayQuan Faison once again backed his team up and scored another 2 point conversion.
With just 2 seconds left in the first quarter, Clinton’s Emari Oates #2 would raise the score to 31, leaving Whiteville behind at 0.
Clinton would not stop there. Scoring yet again, Raheem Skinner bumped the Dark Horse score to 37-0 with only 6:35 left in the second quarter. Clintons #32 scored the last touchdown of the night with 3:13 left in the second quarter. Halftime score would be 43-0.
Fighting through the third and fourth quarter, Clinton’s score remained the same, and so would the Wolfpack’s.
“We bounced back and played the way we are capable of and I am very proud of my team. Defense and offense were great, it was defiantly a team win” stated Clintons JV head coach Michael Bell.
The Dark Horse JV will travel to Pender in two weeks, Thurs., Sept. 26.
