Midway’s varsity volleyball has been on the losing end lately, falling in 3 sets to home team Rosewood, 25-15, 25-13, and 25-23 on Monday and falling in 3 to West Bladen, 25-19, 26-24, 21-25 on Wednesday.

The Raiders put up a good fight and came close to forcing a 4th set against both teams, but could not overcome tough offenses from both teams.

Leading the scoring for Midway against the Rosewood Eagles was Amber Poole, with 8 points, 1 ace, 2 kills, 5 assists, and 3 digs. Other Raider stats included Cassidy Strickland with 4 points and 8 assists; Michaela Godwin, 2 points, 2 digs; Savannah Bullins, 1 point, 1 ace, 2 kills; Ivey Parker, 1 point, 1 ace, 1 kill; Taylor Fann, 2 kills, 2 assists; Kelsey Pondo, 2 pts, 3 kills; Hannah Hubbard, 3 points, 1 ace, 3 kills, 1 dig; Morgan Tew, 4 kills and 1 dig.

Against the West Bladen Knights, Hannah Hubbard led the attack with 10 kills; Savannah Bullins followed with 5; Amber Poole, 4; Kelsey Pondo, 3; Savannah Spell, 3; Morgan Tew and Ivey Parker, 2 each.

Michaela Godwin was credited with 3 digs. Cassidy Strickland had 9 assists and Amber Poole had 8 assists.

Midway will travel to East Bladen on Tuesday (Sept. 24) and host Pender on Thursday (Sept. 26). The Raiders record falls to 2-9 overall and 2-4 in conference.
