Coming off a 3-2 upset win over Sampson Middle, the Hobbton Middle Wildcats hosted Midway on Tuesday in soccer action and came away with a 8-0 win.


The Wildcats scored one minute into the match when Jair Sanchez crossed the ball in front of the Raider’s goal to a wide open Dennis Licona. Ten minutes later Licona scored again, but this time knocking the cross in with his throat.


Sanchez scored the next two, both from 14 yards out to make the score 4-0. Francisco Gomez , Irvin Castillo, Sanchez, and Edgar Montes all found the back of the net to finish the scoring.


“I thought our defense really stepped up the second half keeping the pressure off our keeper Asiano Otero,” said Hobbton’s coach Damon Burnett.


The Wildcats travel to Union Middle on Thursday. Game time is 4 pm.
