Showing off their custom made pink jerseys, the Clinton varsity volleyball team hosted a ‘Pink Out’ game Thursday night against Union. The Spartans won in 3 straight sets, which was played in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The scores indicated the teams were evenly matched, but Union was able to pull ahead at just the right time for the win. Scores for the three sets were 25-21, 25-22, and 25-20.
Union’s coach, Matthew Russell, was extremely proud of his team and said all the girls on the team had a hand in bringing home the win.
“The team finally put it together today. I’ve known for a while that the team could play this way - with good passes, good communication, intensity, and heart. I just haven’t seen it all come together in a game yet until today. The hard work and dedication of these girls is beginning to pay off and I couldn’t be prouder of their effort Thursday night against a good Clinton team,” he expressed, and added, “Every single girl on the roster played and contributed in the win.”
