The Lakewood Leopard Volleyball team lost a close, hard fought game for the third and fourth places in the conference Wednesday afternoon. The final was 3-1, Spring Creek. Spring Creek finished as the third place team and Lakewood took fourth.

Lakewood coach Sheila Davidson said, “We played hard, we played emotional, we played as a team and we had fun. We were playing to win. We just couldn’t pull it off.”

She said Lakewood will play at Whiteville in the first round of the 1A state play-offs on Saturday.

The championship game went to Princeton, who has yet to lose a conference game this season. The Bulldogs beat Rosewood, who took second place, in 3 straight sets.
