The Dark Horse junior varstiy easily handled the Leopards on Friday with a score of 77-36 to start the backyard brawl between the two rivals.

Clinton head coach Bobby Lamb was pleased with the action he saw on the court by his team.

“I think we started out a little slow during the first two quarters, but we picked it up in the third. It was a big team effort,” he said.

Lakewood head coach Sylvester Pittman said his team just didn’t come out ready to play.

“This game we got out hustled, and out played. The Clinton kids came in with a lot of intensity and we didn’t adjust to it. We came out flat and they took advantage of everything we had,”Coach Pittman said.

The Dark Horse JV will host the Cape Fear Colts and the Leopards will host Union next Tuesday.
