Lakewood’s JV boys hosted Spring Creek for their first conference game on Tuesday night and came away with a 79-52 win.

Lakewood’s defense kept the Gators on their toes. They managed to slap Spring Creek’s shots back down, while sinking their own baskets.

Lakewood JV head coach Sylvester Pittman was pleased with the way his team played.

“The JV game was great, we came out and executed real well. The kids played really well for our first conference game. I’m pleased with my JV‘s effort tonight,” Coach Pittman stated.

For the Leopards, Q. Williams and K. Bailey were top scorers with 16 points each. N. Devone, 10; and J. Owens, 13 points each; N. Murphy, 5; K. Bailey, 16 points; Z. Tanner, 4 points; P. Holland and W. Peete, each with 2 points and O. Jones with 3 points.

Lakewood’s record moves to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference. They well travel to North Duplin on Thursday for their last conference game of 2013.
