The Lady Leopards defense held Spring Creek to just 20 points in their first conference, 52-20, win on Tuesday.


Lakewood dominated in rebounding and shooting. The Gators fell behind early and couldn’t make it up.


Lakewood girls head coach, Loften Kerr said, “It was a good win, and everyone played tonight. I thought we did well. We are getting better with hitting that inside shot. I thought Chanel Mclellon and Justina Henry played really well tonight. We have to get better and better for the conference.”


Leopard Chanel McLellon led the game with 16 points and 10 rebounds; Rashyda Parker had 10 points; Briana Evans had 8 points; Justina Henry with 4; Kiara Rich had 4 points; Jada Moore with 4 points; Daja Owens with 2; Alexis Williams had 2 points.


Lakewood’s record is now 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference. The travel to North Duplin on Thursday.
