Midway hosted East Bladen on Tuesday in JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys basketball. The Radiers started the session out with a big win from the JV squad, 86-27.

East Bladen was 5-0 coming into the game for the conference opener for both teams. Larry Blanks, Shyheim Small, and Paris Smith all scored in double figures with 13, 12, and 11 points respectively to lead the Raiders to their 7th win of the year.

The Raiders have now won seven games in a row after dropping their first game of the year.

The Raiders led 23-10 after a quarter, then began to full-court press the visiting Eagles. The Eagles had all sorts of problems getting the ball front court, and this allowed Midway to build a 50-13 lead at halftime.

Midway was able to play everybody on the team for good minutes, as they won going away, 86-27.

Coach Matthew Creech of Midway stated that he was proud of his team and their effort.

“The pressure helped us out a lot. We were able to get out in transition and run, and that’s a point of emphasis we try to make every game, to force turnovers and get easy baskets. I’m glad everyone was able to play today as well, it was really a team victory,” finished Creech.

The Raiders travel to Pender Thursday for their last game before the Christmas break.
