The Lady Leopards fell short against the Rosewood Eagles on Friday night with a score of 45-72.

Despite the wide margin in the score, the Leopards put up fight, but just couldn’t get the ball to fall in the basket.

Rosewood gained the lead in the 1st quarter and never gave it up. Score by quarters was: 12-17; 26-40; 35-60; 45-72.

Lakewood’s head coach, Loft Kerr, said his Leopard team had a lot to learn.

“This was terrible, and I’m really disappointed. Rosewood is a good team, and I think we have to do some growing up. We made a lot of little mistakes. We didn’t follow the game plan. We started throwing the ball around. We just have to grow up and maybe next time we see them we can do better,” Coach Kerr said.

Brianna Evans put double-digits on the board with 21 points. Chanel McLellon scored 11 points; Kiara Rich, 8 points; and Justina Henry with 4 points.

Lakewood’s record is now 8-4 overall and they travel into Tiger Country on Tuesday to face James Kenan.
