Boys Basketball

Mintz Academy boys basketball team stole the show as they played against Community Baptist Academy. MCA won with a final score of 46-10.

Mintz head coach, Michael Oliver, said ” I am proud of our boys effort, we shot better today and were able to get some buckets in transition. They showed improvement.”

The leading scorers for Mintz were Josh Davis with 18 points; Chris Mathews with 8 points; Cody Camp with 8 points.

MCA well travel to Zebulon on Tuesday to play Heritage Christian.

Boys and Girls Middle School

The girls and boys middle school teams from Mintz Christian Academy hosted Liberty Christian of Hope Mills on Tuesday and L.C. came away the winners.

For the girls, Mintz was faced with a more experienced team, and they couldn’t get ahead of the ball, as Liberty out scored the Lady Lions, 46-15.

The leading scorer for Mintz was Sydney Norris with 8 points.

Mintz head coach Dan Heinz said, “Liberty is a veteran team with a lot of varsity experienced players and it showed. They pressed and trapped nearly the entire game and it was difficult for our young team to handle. We will learn from this and be better.”

As for the boys team, they too were over-powered by a tough, more experienced L.C. team. The final score was 12-59.

MCA’s leading scorer was Cody Camp with 6 points.
