Roseboro-Salemburg hosted Union Middle Monday evening in a thriller. Union was able to hang on to the victory, 40-39.
Union led 14-5 after the first quarter, and 17-15 at halftime. The score was tied at 28 entering the final quarter, where Union was able to squeak out the win.
Leading scorers for RSMS were Austin Blackwell and Marquis Moore with 15 and 11 points respectively.
For Union, Shaquor Newkirk had 9 points, and Elija McKoy had 8.
“We got off to a slow start, but we were able to pick it back up after the first quarter. I like the way we fought, and hats off to Union for being tough enough to get the win. It’s a tough loss for us but a great game overall” said the head Coach of Roseboro-Salemburg, Todd Wheeler.
It was one of the most exciting middle-school games the county has seen all year, for sure.
