Coming out in their pink jerseys, the Clinton Lady Dark Horses took on Wallace Rose-Hill for a major win of 82-48.


By the end of the first quarter, the Horses had a lead of 15-3. Catching up, Wallace ended the second quarter with a score of 36-20, Horses still in the lead.


Going into the second half of the night, the Horses got ahead and kept it there. With a third quarter score of 62-35, Wallace had to fight to keep up.


Using every second to their advantage the Horses ended the night with a score of 82, leaving Wallace behind at 48.


Leading scores for Clinton were Mikayla Boykin with 38 points, Kristen Glasper with 16 points, Zoey Harris with 8 points, Brielle Mitchell with 8 points, and Tichiana Aultman with 6 points.


Next up, the Clinton Varisty Mens team played against Wallace, ending the night with a winning score of 71-62. Although this was a closer game than the girls, the Horses still managed a great win.


Fighting back and forth for the ball, Clinton ended the first quarter with a small lead of 22-19. Not giving up there, Wallace kept fighting.


Entering the second quarter, the Horses were able to get a larger lead. With a score of 39-33, Clinton stayed ahead.


Coming back after halftime, the Horses gave it their all, keeping a good lead. Ending the night with a score of 71-62, the Clinton Dark Horses took home the win.


Leading scores for Clinton were Michael Boykin with 17 points, James Evans with 15 points, Thaxter Spruil with 10 points, RayQuan Faison with 7 points, and Osharmaine Jones with 6 points.


“This was an outstanding win. We are playing 8 games in 14 days with little rest, so this was great. We defended tonight, and everyone got to contribute. Michael Boykin, James Evans, RayQuan Faison and Jaquan McClean were great in the last four minutes. We are getting better and maturing a lot” stated Clintons Coach Jordan.


Clinton will play Wednesday at home against Union High School at 6 p.m.
