This evening after the 4:30pm kickoff, HHS defeated Goldsboro 3-0. Lexii Mincy, our freshman starting at Right-Forward, took us to a 1-0 lead with a solid bottom left penalty kick. The kick was struck with complete confidence! Senior and captain Pamela Molina, starting at Left-Forward, scored Hobbton’s 2nd goal, with a good chest trap and right foot.

HHS lead 2-0 at halftime.

Freshman Lexii Mincy doubled her efforts and finished strong for the final 3rd goal in the 2nd half. Hobbton’s defense, lead by senior captains Chantel Davis and Savannah Whipkey, were impressive from start to finish, not allowing Goldsboro forwards much time on the ball. A special mention to Sarah Price, the Junior Defensive-Mid who played every minute of the game with incredible intensity and commitment. I am extremely pleased and proud of the passion shown by the team, preparing and performing to such a high standard in a short amount of time. The team will take the next week to only improve on the promise shown this evening before facing Union as their next opponent. I would like to thank Coach Wes Cone and Coach Bryan Martinez for their exceptional work ethic and dedication to HHS soccer.
