A complaint about individuals cooking meth at a residence on Yellow Skin Road near Autryville led to the arrest of two Sampson men over the weekend.

According to Sampson Sheriff’s Cpl. Marc s Smith, Ricky Garrett Faircloth, 28, of 530 Yellow Skin Road, and Samuel Paul Hand, 27, of 4981 Autryville Road, were taken into custody Friday afternoon and charged with one count each of possession of possession of meth precursor with the intent to manufacture, a felony.

The two were jailed following an investigation into the complaint. Agents, Smith said, went to the residence and detected a strong odor of ammonia coming from a shed behind the residence. As a result, a search warrant was obtained and the search turned up meth. Both Hand and Faircloth were taken into custody at that time.

Both were placed under separate $50,000 bonds. Hand was released, but Faircloth remained in the Detention Center late Monday afternoon.

The two are expected to make first appearances in Sampson District Court on those charges Dec. 20.

Another drug arrest

Earlier Saturday, agents with the Sampson Special Investigations Division arrested a Stedman man following a traffic stop that turned up more than just that violation.

Smith said Dwayne Raymond Hahn, 46, 7152 Maxwell Road, Stedman was taken into custody and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and two counts of trafficking opiates by transport.

A consent search of the vehicle during the traffic stop turned up 4.8 grams of marijuana and 8.3 grams of opium, resulting in the three felony charges.

Hahn was placed under a $50,000 secured bond and is expected to make his first appearance in District Court Dec. 20.
