James “Davey” Brown, 53

DARLINGTON – James David “Davey” Brown, 53, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013. Graveside funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 in Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Born in Lee County, the son of the late James Willard Brown and the late Alpha Harris Brown James, he was a certified general contractor. He resided in Four Oaks, and had a second residence at 1250 Philadelphia Street, Darlington, S.C. Davey enjoyed fishing and cooking. Surviving are his daughter, Tiffany Brooke Brown of Autryville; his fiancé, Agnes Woods of Four Oaks; sisters and brothers: Shirley (Wayne) Vincent of Darlington S.C., Charles Wayne (Loretta) Brown of Clinton, Connie (Billy)Mullis and Michael Dennis Brown, all of Lamar; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; sister-in-law, Sandra Brown of Lamar; also, Agnes’s daughters, who were extra special to him, Tonia Nesmith and Tina Nesmith and grandkids, Riley and Natalie. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a daughter, Samantha Brown; grandchildren, Matthew and Marcus Newman; and a brother, Steve Brown. An online guestbook is available at www.belkfuneralhome.com
