Union High School athletes turned out Saturday for the school’s annual track camp.
This is the third year UNC-Wilmington assistant coach/recruiter Donald Thomas has conducted the camp.
Coach Thomas, said Union track coach Johnny Williams, focused on sprint technique and basic sprint form. Instruction was given on the phrases of sprint race. He also instructed students on long jump mechanics and training drills.
Thomas also presented session on NCAA recruiting and the GPA and Standard Test requirements for D1 recruitment.
More than a dozen students attended the clinic, Williams said. He noted that he believed the camp was a success and that students gained a lot from the information Thomas provided.
